NG Bailey has completed work to the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Guildford.
The project covered mechanical and electrical (M&E) work on the front and back-of-house areas, including 183 bedrooms and 38 private apartments, as well as two bars and restaurants, conference facilities, a heath spa and an underground car park.
Working in partnership with Galliford Try, NG Bailey provided extensive M&E, heating, cooling, power, security systems, access and CCTV services for the prestigious Radisson Edwardian Hotel.
The hotel has been awarded a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating and an Energy Performance Certificate, in accordance with the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) and BREEAM requirements.
The 38 private apartments were built in accordance with the CSH, an environmental assessment method for rating and certifying the performance of new homes. In line with this, NG Bailey deployed a number of sustainable solutions throughout the build, including a solar hot water system.
The code works by awarding new homes a rating from one to six, based on their performance against nine sustainability criteria. The 38 apartments were graded as level three.
NG Bailey’s managing director for the Engineering south and Rail divisions, Steve Briggs, said: “This project proves the innovative capability we have as a company. It has helped Radisson Edwardian to develop a truly sustainable hotel complex.
“Throughout this contract we built up a strong relationship with Galliford Try and I look forward to working with them again in the future.”
