TheoryLiverpool South Parkway is a high quality £18m passenger interchange serving Liverpool John Lennon Airport and comprises a new station, an integrated travel centre, bus and taxi stops, a park +ride car park and dedicated bus shuttle to the airport. The scheme itself is substantial involving the refurbishment of Allerton Station and the relocation of Garston Station, where the new Interchange facility is being built.
The project has already won recognition for its environmental features including cement replacement, rainwater harvesting, recycled aluminium roof, sustainable forest products and solar power. Liverpool South Parkway is integral to Liverpool’s status as European Capital of Culture 2008.
